Water

Water is a dynamic and often hidden utility that demands a professional level of visibility and attention. The team at Quantify Environmental will continually meter (minutebyminute), monitor and manage your water to identify unnecessary baseline flows  in your facility.

As a society, weundervalue water. In manufacturing centres, we manage this valuable resource with outdated analogue meters and attempt to manage million-dollar water bills by writing down daily values with pen and paper. Ball valves, drilled holes instead of engineered nozzles, failedsolenoids, broken floats, overflows, and non-existent controls, all contribute to water use inefficiencies in your plant.

Quantification of water use is critical for understanding and calculating water reduction projects. Reliable and trustworthy data from precise, connected sensors, combined with our detailed onsite assessments, drives low-cost projects with rapid returns on investment (ROI). We are confident that we can significantly reduce your annual water bill; our average reduction rate is >20%.

Electricity

Electricity isexpensive and costs rise predictably every year, impacting your bottom line. We can get you ahead of this cost burden, make your facility more sustainable, and satisfy your ESG goals all at the same time.

Instead of large CapEx intensive projects, we focus on reduction opportunities. Quantify Environmental advocates proven methods that reduce electrical demands and require low amounts of capital to install: Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), retrofitting low-efficiency metal halide lighting to LEDs, and embracing automated control systems to manage electrical demands.

Our data and experience will allow us to identify the right location and the right tool for the job so that your department budget is invested on the right project.

Natural Gas

Natural gas is the primary Scope 1 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission source at any production facility. Carbon taxes are applied to natural gas bills to incentivise more efficient use. Aspiring to reduce the use of natural gas should be a significant aspect of your organization’s ESG goals, as the savings are compounded.

Identifying sources of ‘waste heat’ throughout your facility is a cost effective and proven method to build in efficiencies and reduce natural gas use.  Energy from waste heat sources, such as boiler stacks, air compressor vents, condensate tanks vents, and boiler blow-down water streams, can be captured to heat incoming cold water and air. Through our continuous data monitoring, project experience, and passion for implementation, Quantify Environmental will ensure these projects are properly identified and completed to reduce your dependence on natural gas.

Food Loss + Waste

Our society toleratessending edible food and final productsto landfills, composts, and animal feed. Raw ingredient and final product waste does not have to be a significant cost of large-scale food production operations. Overlooking this loss is unsustainable, uncompetitive, and takes away from potential profits.

We know your hard-to-source production staff are over-capacity andmaintenance teams do not have the time to find, measure, and reportspecific areas of loss. That’s where we come in.

We complete detailed measurements and evaluations of your plant during production and sanitation shifts, pinpointing specific locations where ingredients, in-process, and finished product have become a cost burden through tipping fees or wastewater surcharges, rather than the revenue earners that they should be. We quantify this waste and convert it into metrics that speak to all departments, with the goal to drive change. Our experienced manufacturing team provides low-cost/no-cost solutions to eliminate these areas of loss, minimizing waste while maximizing profits.
